A Twist on Packing School Lunchs
As school year approaches, I know I am going to be packing a lot lunches! My kids are get tired of the same old things each day, so I've decided to get creative. I discovered the art of packing Bento lunches and thought it looked like so much fun.

Kids- bring a book and camera to a state park and take the challenge! Parents and kids can go online to print the rules and checklist of activities. Kids are required to complete five activities on the list, including reading a book in a state park, and send a photo of each one to enter the contest. Good luck! You will earn a FREE pass for you and your family to a State Park!

Ribbon~Button Bookmarks
Easy bookmarks for those little cuties about to start back to school!
These are SO simple and easy! Cute bookmarks for all those kids going back to school soon.
What you need:
Scissors
Ribbon (grosgrain works best)
Buttons
Thread or embroidery floss
Lighter or a fray away product (I prefer the lighter since it it faster)
Take you ribbon and measure it into 18 inch pieces. If it wrinkled, like mine always is, you can give it a quick trip under the iron.
To keep the ends from fraying with use, you can use Fray Away, or a lighter. I use the ...
BBQ Chicken Pizza
Ingredients
2 Boneless/Skinless Chicken Breasts
2 Tablespoons BBQ Rub (Found in grocery condiment and/or spice aisle)
1 Pound Pizza Dough (can be found in most grocery store refrigerated bakery aisles)
1 Cup BBQ Sauce (Sweet Baby Rays is recommended)
1/2 Red Onion (Sliced)
6 Cloves Garlic (Minced)
1 Cup Shredded Cheddar Chees
1 Cup Shredded Monterey Jack Cheese

August Vegetable of the Month
Celery and Fennel
Celery is one of the veges of the month for August. It is used around the world as a vegetable and people eat the leaf stalk and the toproot. Celery seeds are used in perfume and medicines in many places since they produce celery oil.
At times, celery seeds are mixed with salt to make a spice known as celery salt.
Fennel is also on the list this month.

Library Storytimes
at Flagler County Public Library
Story Time is a program at the library that includes picture book sharing, nursery rhymes, songs, finger plays, storytelling and.or other related activities such as puppetry and crafts. Children get introduced to literature and are encouraged to develop a life-long interest in reading.
There are different levels of development in children so there are Story Time options.
Babytime - Ages infant to 1 - are on Wednesday mornings at 9:30am.
Toddler Storytime - Ages 1-2 - are on Wednesday mornings at 9:30 am.
